Gypsy Daisy- Sung by Mrs. Asenath B. Slade of Fall River, Massachusetts; learned from her mother circa 1889.

1. The Chieftain came back from the hunt
Inquiring for his lady,
The servant maid to him replied,
"She's gone with the Gypsy Daisy."

CHORUS: Rattle dattle, dino, dino din
Rattle dattle, dino daisy,
The servant maid to him replied,
"She's gone with the Gypsy Daisy."

2. How could you leave your house and home,
How could you leave your baby?
How could you leave your own true love,
And travel with the Gypsy Daisy?"

CHORUS: Rattle dattle, dino, dino din
Rattle dattle, dino daisy,
How could you leave your own true love,
And travel with the Gypsy Daisy?"

3. "I never loved you in my life,
I never loved your baby,
I married you against my will,
I'm going with the Gypsy Daisy."

CHORUS

4. "Last night I lay with my own true love,
Last night I lay with my baby,
Tonight I lie on the cold, cold ground
In the arms of the Gypsy Daisy."
