C. "Geordie." - Sung by Mr. Fred Kennedy, South River Lake, NS,  pre1950 Creighton C.

1. "Go saddle me my riding steed,
Go saddle me my pony. [1]
That I may go to the King's high court,
To plead for the life of Geordie."

2. But when she came to the king's high court
So early in the morning,
They said, "Young maid you are too late
For Geordie's condemned already. "

3. "I'll have him hung with a golden chain,
Such chains they shan't be many,
Because he was of noble blood
And loved by a loyal lady. "
