NOTES: "Don't Feel Like I'se Anyways Tired" or "Don't Feel No Ways Tired" or "I Don't Feel No Ways Tired" is a traditional spiritual sung by Sims Tartt and Group, near Livingston, AL that was collected by John and Ruby Lomax on their Southern States Recording Trip. One of he earliest versions is from Fenner's Fifty Cabin and Plantation Songs: Hampton and Its Students in 1874, p. 228, with tune. R. Nathaniel Dett retitled the song "I Am Seeking For A City" in his Religious Folk Songs..., p. 36-37 in 1927.

The Evening Four's version (see in this collection) is closer to "Don't Feel Like I'se Anyways Tired" collected by Lomax in 1939 (below).

Modern versions of "I Don't Feel No Ways Tired" by James Cleveland and others,  also known as "I've Come Too Far From Where I've Started From," are much different than the early spiritual version.

DON'T FEEL LIKE I'SE ANYWAYS TIRED- Sims Tartt and Group, near Livingston, AL. John and Ruby Lomax 1939 Southern States Recording Trip  "used to hear ole folks sing it."

Oh, the Lord is comin', Hallelujah!
Lord is comin' round in glory, hallelujah!

CHORUS: Oh, my Lord, I don't feel like I'se anyways tired,
Jes' give me that ole glory, hallelujah!

I do hope to shout in the mornin', when this old world's on fire,
Jes' give me that ole Glory, Hallelujah!

Can't you hear those angels singin', Hallelujah!
Angels singin' round in glory, Hallelujah!

Dere's a better day a-comin', Hallelujah!
Oh, Lordy, it's comin' round in Glory.

CHORUS:

Can't you hear those mourners moanin', (moanin') Hallelujah!

CHORUS:

I do hope to shout in Glory, when this old world's on fire,
Jes' give me that ole Glory, Hallelujah!
