No. 61. Did Not Old Pharoah Get Lost?- Jubilee Singers and Their Songs.

1. Isaac a ransom, while he lay
Upon an altar bound,
Moses, an infant cast away,
By Pharoah's daughter found.

CHORUS: Did not old Pharoah get lost, get lost, get lost,
Did not old Pharoah get lost, in the Red Sea?

2. Joseph, by his false brethren sold,
God raised above them all;
To Hannah's child the Lord foretold
How Eli's house should fall.

CHORUS:

3. The Lord said unto Moses,
Go unto Pharoah now,
For I have hardened Pharoah's heart,
To me he will not bow.

CHORUS:

4. Then Moses and Aaron,
To Pharoah did go,
Thus says the God of Israel,
Let my people go.

CHORUS:

5. Old Pharoah said who is the Lord,
That I should Him obey?
His name it is Jehovah,
For He hears his people pray.

CHORUS:

6. Then Moses numbered Israel,
Through all the land abroad,
Saying, children, do not murmur,
But hear the word of God.

CHORUS:

7. Hark! hear the children murmur,
They cried aloud for bread,
Down came the hidden manna,
The hungry soldiers fed.

CHORUS:

8. Then Moses said to Israel,
As they stood along the shore,
Your enemies you see today,
You will never see no more.

CHORUS:

9. Then down came raging Pharoah,
That you may plainly see,
Old Pharoah and his host
Got lost in the Red Sea.

CHORUS:

10. Then men, and women, and children
To Moses they did flock;
They cried aloud for water,
And Moses smote the rock.

CHORUS:

11. And the Lord spoke to Moses,
From Sinai's smoking top,
Saying, Moses, lead the people,
Till I shall bid you stop.

CHORUS:

Well now didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
Get Lost (get lost), get lost (get lost)
Well didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
In the Red Sea [Repeat]

Well God called Moses on the mountain top
(*Across the Red Sea)
Well He placed the laws in Moses' heart
(Across the Red Sea)
Then He put the commandments in Moses mind,
(Across the Red Sea)
Said, "Moses don't leave my lambs behind,
(Across the Red Sea)

Well didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
Get Lost (get lost), get lost (get lost)
Well didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
In the Red Sea [Repeat]

Well God called Moses on the mountain top
(Across the Red Sea)
God told old Moses to play his harp,
(Across the Red Sea)
Then behold I saw Jehovah smile,
(Across the Red Sea)
His voice did a-rumble, His eyes flashed fire
(Across the Red Sea).

Well tell me, didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
Get Lost (get lost), get lost (get lost)
Well didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
In the Red Sea. [Repeat]

Behold, behold Jehovah spoke,
(Across the Red Sea)
And out of His mouth came fire and smoke,
(Across the Red Sea)
I saw Him again behold He smiled,
(Across the Red Sea)
And His voice did a-rumble, His eyes flashed fire
(Across the Red Sea).

Well didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
Get Lost (get lost), get lost (get lost)
Well didn't old Pharoah get lost, (get lost)
In the Red Sea.
