ANGEL ROLLED THE STONE AWAY- Updated lyrics by Park New Choir

REFRAIN: The Angel rolled the stone away
The Angel rolled the stone away
'Twas on a bright and shiny morn'
When the trumpet begin to sound
The Angel rolled the stone away

Sister Mary came-a-running
At the break of day
Brought the news from Heaven
The stone done roll away

I'm looking for my Saviour
Tell me where He lay
High up on the mountain
The stone done roll away

The soldiers there a plenty
Standing by the door
But they could not hinder
The stone done roll away

Old Pilate and his wise men
Didn't know what to say
The miracle was on them
The stone done roll away

Angels rolled the stones away
Early on one Easter Sunday morning

Oh Mary she come running
Just about the break
She's come lookin' for King Jesus
Angels rolled the stones away

CHORUS:

Jesus talked to His Father
while hanging on the cross
Father will you forgive him
Oh I know the soul he loss

CHORUS: 2X

The Angels Rolled the Stone Away- arranged by Jester Hairston

Oh, the angels rolled the stone away,
'Twas on that Easter Sunday morning
That the angels rolled the stone away.

Sister Mary she came running just about the break of day.
She was bringing news from heaven
That the angels rolled the stone away.
Great God, Almighty! Oh, the angels...

Said the angel He is not here; He is risen as he said,
Why seek ye the living way down here among the dead.
Great God, Almighty! Oh, the angels...

Jesus said, "Touch Me not Mary, but go on ahead of me.
Go and tell all my disciples to meet me in Galilee."
Great God, Almighty! Oh, the angels...

Brother Thomas he came running,
And his eyes were open wide.
Jesus said, "Man, if you doubt me,
Come put your hand right in my side."
Great God, Almighty! Oh, the angels...

Tell me where He lay -
The stone done rolled away."

Standing by the door;
But they could not hinder
The stone done rolled away.

The stone done rolled away.
