NOTES: "Ain’t Going To Lay My Armor Down" was first recorded in 1928 by Ancil McVay and Roland Johnson as a vocal duet with fiddle, guitar and banjo. This little known old-time gospel song probably has roots in African-American revival songs but has only appeared as a white spiritual.

The song form and melody resemble the gospel song, "Peace Like A River."
