C. Lord Thomas- From Mrs. Sarah Chapel, Perrysville, Ohio. 1939 Eddy C

For his mother's sake he took the brown girl home;
Fair Elinor says: "Lord Thomas is this your bride?
You might have had as fair a  creature
As ever the sun shone on."

The brown girl having a little knife
Both glittering and sharp,
She pierced fair Elinor to the heart.

Lord Thomas he took the knife
And pierced the brown girl then.

And then he fell upon the sword,
And then upon the wall;
And that is the end of these young lovers
Without any wedding at all.
