The Wee Wee Man- Carson (MA) 1908 Barry MS

The Wee Wee Man- Carson (MA) 1908 Barry MS

[From Barry MS-- this isn't the Child ballad, Wee Wee Man, but a related (form, melody, text) ballad to Child 279-A, The Gaberlunyie man. It appears in an Appendix to 279-A as Bonson No. 47. Carson was one of Barry's important informants - she countributed a version of the Jolly Beggar and he published the music without text in the 1909 JOAFL.

One day as I went o'er the plain
The wee-est man that e'er I seen
The wee-est man that e'er I seen,
Come tripping o'er the lea.

Chorus: Too ran on tan oo ran ee
Too ran on tan oo ran ee
Too ran on tan oo ran ee€
Come tripping o'er the lea.
