"The Three Crows." Collected by Eloise Linscott. Sung by Mrs sara Stuart Wilkins, Manchester, New Hampsire who remembers her mother singing it.

1. There were three crows sat on a tree,
And they were black as crows could be.

2. Said one old crow unto his mate,
"What shall we do for bread to ate?"

3. "An old dead horse in the meadow lies
We'll go and peck at both his eyes."

4. "We'll perch ourselves on his backbone
And pick his eyes out one by one."
