I Had Four Sisters- Lethbridge 1905 Baring-Gould

I Had Four Sisters- from the Baring-Gould collection, sent to Baring-Gould in 1905 by Lady Lethbridge. w/music

I have four sisters beyond the sea,
      Perry, merry, dictum, domine
And they did send four presents to me.
      Hentum, pentum, peri-decentum,
      Perry, merry, dictum, domine.

  The first it was a cherry without any stone,
The second it was chicken without any bone,

  The third it was a blanket without any thread,
The fourth it was a book that never was read.

  How can there be a cherry without any stone?
How can there be a chicken without any bone?

  How can there be a blanket without any thread?
How can there be a book which no man can read?

  When the chick was in the egg, how could it have a bone;
When the cherry's in the bud, there is no stone.

  When the blanket wasn't woven, how could there be a thread;
When the book wasn't printed, how could it be read.
