The title is a misnomer since the chorus does not have "Rolling Eye" I'll leave it, so noted. This version is important since the "tee-lee-lee" is similarly found in the US and shows a possible Scottish origination.

Summary - Fragments of a song in which a young man out walking asks questions of a young girl he chances to meet, learning her name, and her age - she'll be sixteen this coming Monday.
My Rolling Eye- sung by Duncan Williamson from Inveraray, county Argyllshire; recorded by George McIntyre, November, 1967.
As I was walking doon the street
I spied a bonnie wee lassie
I wink-ed at her with a tee-lee-lee
Saying "Where ye gaun my lassie?"
CHORUS: With a meshy to, folly dinky do
Meshy to an' da-dee oh
Meshy to folly dinky do
Meshy to my honey.
"What's your name my bonnie wee lassie
Oh what's your name my honey?
Oh what's your name my bonnie wee lassie?
"My granny cries my Annie."
"What's your age my bonnie wee lassie
What's your age my honey?"
I wink-ed at her with a tee-lee-lee
"I'll be sixteen next Monday."
"Can I walk with you my bonnie wee lassie
Can I walk with you my honey?"
She wink-ed at me with a tee-lee-lee
Says "You better ask my granny."
