    Seventeen Come Sunday
sung by William Cole of East Stratton, Hampshire on  23 Mar 1909. Collected by G.B. Gardiner and Charles Gamblin

"How old are you, my fair pretty maid?
How old are you, my honey? "
She answered me very cheerfully,
"I am seventeen come Sunday."
CHORUS: With my mush a ring a da
Diddle-lum a da,
Rite-fol-la riddle - lum a  -dido.

Will you take walk, my fair pretty maid,
Will you take walk, my honey?"
She answered me right cheerfully,
"I dare not for my mammy."

You can come unto my mammy's house,
When the moon shines bright and clearly?
I will come down and let you in,
And (my) mammy shall not hear me. "
