An online bio follows. This was probably learned in the early 1900s from her grandmother a resident of County Kerry. It has a nice melody that shifts to a related minor key in the second part (second line).

Born at Parkes in 1894, Sally (Sarah) Sloane's maternal grandmother was from Country Kerry, Ireland and reputed to be a trained singer. Songs and tunes were an integral part of her life and were learned from her mother, Sarah Frost.

From Folk Songs of Australia by John Meredith and Hugh Anderson:

Sally and her husband, Fred Sloane, were living at Lithgow when John Meredith first met them, but later moved to Teralba, on the shore of Lake Macquarie. Unfortunately none of Sally Sloane's children have inherited her love of folk song and it was a stroke of luck that Meredith was able to record her extensive repertoire.

My Bonny Love is Young- sung by Sally Sloane in 1956 recorded at Teralba by John Meredith

"Dear father, dear father, you've done the thing was wrong,
You've married me to a college boy whose age is far too young,
For my age is fourteen and my lovie is sixteen
And me bonny boy is young, but he's growing."

"Dear daughter, dear daughter, I'll tell you what I'll do,
I'll send him off to college for another year or two,
And on his Scotch cap I'll tie a bunch of blue
For to let the ladies know that he's married
For to let the ladies know that he's married."
