Green Grows the Grass- Joseph Taunton (Dor) 1906

[From: Henry Hammond Manuscript Collection (HAM/4/26/4). This poorly remembered stanza is apparently the only one from Taunton-- It has an approximation of the first line, a missing second line and the last two lines :)

Green Grows the Grass- Sung by Joseph Taunton of Corscombe, Dorset in July, 1906; Collected by H.E.D. Hammond

Green grow the grass oh! the leaves is growing green,
The days (are gone and past my love that you and I have seen),
But it's once I had a sweetheart and it's now I have got never a one,
So fare thee well my bonny lass forever.
