There Stands a Lady on the Mountain
- from Dorset Children's Doggerel Rhymes by Judge Udal, 1897

I. There stands a lady on the mountain,
Who she is I do not know.
All she wants is gold and silver,
All she wants is a nice young lover.
(Chooses)

II. Now you're married I wish you joy,
First a girl, and then a boy.
Seven years after, son and daughter,
Pray, young couple, kiss together.

III. Kiss her once, kiss her twice,
Kiss her three times over,
Marry her once, marry her twice,
Marry her three times over.
