Careless Love- Lulu Jackson (US) 1928 REC

[From Vocalion 1193 recording Lulu Jackson - June 21, 1928 - Indianapolis IN. No information about Lulu Jackson is currently available. It appears she was singing under an assumed name which means she, like Eva Parker (gospel singer Hattie Parker) was also a gospel singer. Since the texts of both Jackson and Parker are nearly identical (the end of the 4th stanza is different), I've arbitrarily credited the version to Jackson who sang it 5 months earlier. Jackson may have been from Chicago and possibly sang with the Pace Jubilee Singers like Parker.

Careless Love- sung by Lulu Jackson on June 21, 1928 in Indianapolis IN on Vocalion 1193.

   1. You see what careless love will do? (3x)
Make you kill yourself and your lover too.

   2. You caused me to weep you caused me to morn, (3x)
You caused me to leave my happy home.

   3. Don't never drive a stranger from your door, (3x)
Or you'll surely reap just what you sow.

   4. There's many a poor girl led from home
But you can't turn a hard heart like my own. (3x)

   5. You passed my door and you wouldn't come in, (3x)
Now you see what careless love will do.
